Damar Website
*A website for a future ecommerce.
UI Designer/ UI Developer
Damar is a jewelry brand based in Ensenada, Mexico. Created by combining the traditional making process of the filigree with the experimental process of chemistry. Created by Marcela Ovalle, an Agrochemical Engineer and Scientist who merge science and craftsmanship in her jewelry designs.

The concept for her new collection comes from the mix of universal and ancestral meanings of basic geometric forms and colors with contemporary philosophical and scientific concepts.
*The  website's home page welcoming the visitors (potential clients) with an overview of the collection and a minimalist animation effects.
For this project I was going to redesign an existing Wordpress website, the idea of the client was to showcase the new collection, with a design that resonates with the clean and minimal branding and set on the guidelines for a future ecommerce site.

My approach to this project was a little bit different from other projects, in this case I really wanted to accurately incorporate the concept behind the brand to the design in order to make sure the guidelines can be useful when the client decides to create the ecommerce site. We had multiple rounds of meetings and included her (even) more closely than usual in the design process.

I incorporated the colors of the branding (blues and purples) with simple geometrical shapes and a minimalist layout, the typography selected was a sans-serif geometric font with variations in weight across the design.
*The About page, I tried to keep a clean layout through the whole website so the design can look consistent when transitioning to another screen sizes.
The "collection" page was set up to be the "product collections" page in the future. I designed a slider with the collection photos and a button, this was a solution to the idea of incorporating future collections in the same page like a catalog.

Working in this project I learned a lot about my communication skills and how to improve them. I also learned other ways of involving stakeholders in my design process. This was not a big or complex project but it was a big and positive learning experience.

*The "collection" page designed to be the "product collections" page in the future.
*The mobile layout was changed to highlight the photos of the jewelry, keeping the branding guidelines and design consistency.
